mail time mail time maaaiiill tiiiiime

Mail Time at our house is a big deal ( and yes quite often that nice mail song that is playing in your head thanks to blues clues is sung). It probably started when my dad started sending the kids postcards and now it is habit. Each kid carries a piece of mail back to the house, but today the kids hand in hand made their way to the mailbox... Brinley who is the only one who can actually open and see inside exclaims "there are postcards again" ( today is day 3 of postcards) She pulls out the mail and realizes there is only one postcard and its for her.(my dad sent all 3 at the same time but hers was the only one that showed up today)  Presley bursts into tears and runs inside. I grab the rest of the junk mail and chase after her. Presley wont be consoled.  So I turn to get Ryker who is just standing looking at the mailbox. I realized he didn't get a chance to carry anything mail in so I ask Brin to take him a piece of mail... I then hear her exclaim PRESLEY there is a postcard for you! Pete immediately stops crying and runs outside... I realize as she comes to show me the postcard that it is an old postcard that Brinley ran out to the mailbox and pretended to get so her sister wouldnt be sad anymore.... Meanwhile ryk is still standing at the mailbox. He stood there until brin did the same thing for him as she did for pete and then he came proudly up to the house and showed me his card.
Moments like these are what makes every difficult moment, sleepless night and heartache that comes with being a parent worth it.

This is not the first time Brin has done things like that for her brother and sister. When I am sick she always tells me "mom its fine, just stay in bed i will take care of the kids and make them lunch and if you need me to stay home from school to help I can" and quite often when I have reached my limit with one of the babies she steps in with some idea that takes care of the situation.
We are sooooo incredibly lucky that God entrusted us with this little person.

We Love you Miss Brinley Rey
